My husband, 16 month old son and I were invited to experience the beautiful Kiawah Island Golf & Resort in South Carolina. Kiawah Resort is located 45 minutes from Charleston International Airport (where we flew in from Chicago) and only 21 miles from the historic Charleston S.C. Kiawah Island & Golf Resort was named Top 10 Best Resorts by Trip Advisor and ranked Top 10 Beaches in America in 2015. Let me tell you why….
Kiawah Island Golf Resort Wedding & Family Destination
The southern hospitality mixed with beautiful ocean and beach views that stretch nearly ten miles is just a few reasons why we fell in love with this resort. . I was absolutely amazed by the 10,000 – acre island beauty. Just imagine your wedding or anniversary on this beautiful land! It would be stunning.
We stayed at the beautiful Parkside Villa. Our Villa had everything we needed to feel just like home. Two bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, dish washer, refrigerator, washer and dryer, detergent, pots, pans, silverware, microwave, you name it, it was there! A living room with flat screen T.V. A dining area and a relaxing closed in sun porch with couches and chairs. I was in paradise.
There’s also other accommodations that may work for you, your spouse or family. Like the Luxury homes ranging from $185-$3,915 per night or The Sanctuary hotel which starts at $270 to $825 per night. Villas (1-4 bedrooms) are priced at $120 to $650 per night. A weekly discounted rate is available as well. Very reasonably priced and extremely worth it.
What I love most about Kiawah Island and Golf Resort is the unique recreational activities available for all ages. There are Nature Programs like the biking and walking tours, dolphin watching, sunset tours, archery, bike lessons, yoga classes and so much more! There’s literally pages of activities to browse through when planning your trip. You will have plenty to keep you busy or you can simply sip a few drinks on the beach.
It was important to me to travel with my 16 month old son and create memories as a family. We all boarded the sunset boat tour and it was pretty amazing to see the sunset right on the ocean. We even saw a brown pelican, so cute! Kiawah Island was extremely accommodating by providing us with a stroller and a comfortable bicycle seat for my son.
There’s an array of dining options available to meet your cravings across the Island. We indulged in southern goodness at Jasmine Porch, Southern Kitchen and The Ryder Cup Bar. All of these restaurants offered a casual attire.
Seeking a beautiful venue to tie the knot or host a large event? Kiawah Island has 21,0000 square feet of meeting and conference facilities, in addition to several outdoor areas.
