So, guess what? We kicked off this awesome family trip from the Chicagoland area bright and early at 8 am. We were super pumped for the adventure awaiting us. Our destination? Quad Cities, baby! We teamed up with the Visit Quad Cities Tourism Bureau to plan out an itinerary jam-packed with excitement, history, and, of course, some seriously delicious foodie experiences.

The Current Iowa: Luxurious Accommodations

Upon our arrival in Quad Cities, we were greeted by the luxurious accommodations of The Current Iowa. Bix Bistro at Hotel Blackhawk: An Amazing Lunch

Our culinary journey began at Bix Bistro, located within the historic Hotel Blackhawk. The ambiance was refined yet inviting, setting the perfect tone for our dining experience. We indulged in a sumptuous feast, sampling an array of delectable dishes. From the succulent salmon and Caesar salad to the tantalizing bruschetta, each bite was a celebration of flavor. Calvin, our son, savored a delightful pizza accompanied by fresh fruit, while we adults delighted in decadent desserts and refreshing drinks. Bix Bistro proved to be a culinary gem, leaving us eager to return for more.

Immersing ourselves in the vibrant arts scene of Quad Cities, we ventured to the Figge Art Museum. Swimming at The Current Iowa: Family Fun

Returning to the comfort of The Current Iowa, we indulged in an evening of family fun at the hotel’s swimming pool. The sparkling waters provided a refreshing retreat, offering respite from the day’s adventures. The following day, we embarked on a theatrical adventure, attending a performance of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Musical” at the Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse. As the curtains rose, we were transported into the whimsical world of Greg Heffley and his misadventures. From catchy tunes to hilarious antics, the musical captivated audiences of all ages, leaving us entertained and uplifted. As the evening descended, my husband and I embarked on a romantic excursion to The Garrison Speakeasy. Tucked away in a hidden corner of Quad Cities, this establishment exuded old-world charm and sophistication. We savored artisanal cocktails and delectable appetizers, the intimate setting providing the perfect backdrop for a couple’s date night. It was a night to remember, filled with laughter, and love.

On our final morning in Quad Cities, we bid farewell with a delicious breakfast at Tiphanie’s. From French-inspired delights to hearty favorites, the menu offered something for everyone. We savored each bite, lingering over steaming cups of coffee and lively conversation. It was the perfect way to conclude our Quad Cities adventure, savoring the flavors of the region one last time before heading home.

The Rock Pile at Pebble Creek Golf Course: Sporting Adventure

Before departing Quad Cities, we indulged in a sporting adventure at The Rock Pile, nestled within Pebble Creek Golf Course. With our son’s passion for golf in mind, we spent an hour balls at the golf range, enjoying quality time together amidst lush greenery and scenic views.
